The motion of a sextuple pendulum is governed by a set of 12 coupled ordinary differential equations. For certain energies its motion is chaotic. This application solves these 12 differential equations using the Runge-Kutta method for the time stepping. The equations of motion have been derived using the Sophia mechanical package. You can influence the movement of the pendulum by holding your device in different positions.
Requires iOS 3.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
